I have been so lonely, and living narrowly within the confines of my walls. I glanced outside today just in time to see the world turn peach, with a soft lavender underbelly. And I am so glad I went walking. The sky is aflame, the river dancing adorned in borrowed glory, the rich green riverbanks inviting in a way strangely dangerous…. You could get lost in that clinging life and gladly stay there. I can see so far in a way completely unlike the big sky of Texas; there is a storm thundering on the far horizon. And I feel deeply at peace, welcomed, and enlivened by it all, here in my cloak of twilight and birdsong.
